Different icons and words are grouped together by categories, which makes it easier for the student to locate what they are looking for. This program makes it easier for students to construct sentences and respond to questions more quickly.
Can they understand the material?
Students can easily understand the material presented in this program simply because it primarily deals with pictures and words. The student can either learn new words by clicking on the icon or word or can strengthen their communication skills by learning how to form sentences. The students can choose a specific voice, make the volume louder or softer, and choose the speed in which the words are spoken in order to effectively understand the material presented.
Is it engaging? Will they want to use it?
Yes, this program not only makes it easier for children to communicate with others but also presents learning in a fun and interesting way. Instead of using flashcards, students have the ability to freely communicate in their own way. Unfortunately Proloquo2go is only available in English. Assistive ware is working on adding additional languages, but as of right now it is only available in English. For students whose first language is something other than English, this program can help them learn English easier. Students can click an icon to hear the word in English, which can help them learn the English language much easier and faster.

No, there is no type of violence incorporated into this program whatsoever. The icons and symbols are cartoon-like pictures, making the program extremely appropriate for young users.

Is the learner or teacher able to control the rate and progression through the material?
Yes, the teacher is able to track of the student’s development progression by making the vocabulary more difficult as the student progresses with the material he/she has already been given. The customization on this program allows the teacher to easily control the rate at which the student feels most comfortable at.
Can the learner or teacher customize any of the settings? (ex. turn off sound, etc.)
Yes, both the learner and the teacher can change settings. The teacher is able to program which words they want to correspond with what icons. The teacher is also able to choose which words they want grouped together in a folder, usually based on similarities. The icons can be edited to be as big or small as the teacher or user chooses. Besides making the volume louder or softer the teacher can choose how quickly the voice pronounces the words. The students are also able to alter these settings if the teacher allows.
